Pay Rate: $70,018 - $105,535

Lead Technical Editor

Delve Underground is looking for an experienced Lead Technical Editor to join our team. A successful candidate will be a fully trained editing professional with demonstrated technical editing skills. While a thorough understanding of writing styles is necessary, this is an editing position. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team experiencing rapid growth in a healthy market focused on infrastructure development, specifically in the underground sector for the foreseeable future. This is a hybrid position, and in-office time will be necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Under supervisor's direction, coordinates editing tasks such as research, writing, data entry, administration, communications support, and other duties as necessary.
  • Edits technical reports, conference papers, administrative documents, and specifications with minimal or no supervision.
  • Edits marketing materials with minimal or no supervision in concert with Marketing Director/Managers and Communications Director.
  • Creates company templates.
  • Reviews document deliverables for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Assists in providing coaching and training to technical authors (engineers mostly) to be better technical writers.
  • Manage deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • 4 - 8 years editing experience, A&E industry experience preferred
  • Associate's degree or higher, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills, along with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent editing, writing, and communication skills
  • Good presentation and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
  • Seasoned professional with good knowledge of most areas of editing (formatting proofreading, copy editing, content editing)
  • Exercises good judgment in managing time
  • Able to balance multiple projects at the same time
