Position Title: BSG Design Release Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI.
** 20% travel required (International travel to Italy if needed) **




Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of engineering experience in the automotive field, preferably product development/powertrain.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.


Description:


Specifying, designing, developing and releasing electric motors for Electric Vehicle (EV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) vehicle applications. The Engineer will guide the engineering development of electric motors from Design Concept into Product Launch, including Electromagnetic Design, Mechanical Design, and Thermal Analysis.

Responsibilities include but are not are limited to:

Coordinate the release of designs, obtain design approvals, ensure designs are manufacturable, component readiness, track piece cost, investment & mass, support future design direction, lead and facilitate resolution of component issues, lead design changes through Product Development (PD). Change Request (CRs), Change Notices (CNs), Global Issue management (GIMs), Forever Request (FR), Interim Approval Authorization (IAA), and quality gates (APQP) processes, warranty process, and support supplier quality assurance & warranty resolution.
