POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic C DEPARTMENT: Engineering REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary: We are looking for Maintenance Mechanic C support operations by maintaining equipment, troubleshooting when problems arise, and repairing machines when broken down.They perform troubleshooting and repairs for all facets of modern automated equipment.This is a position where a candidate can continue to improve their skills and grow into more advanced roles. Primary Job Duties:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on automated equipment.
- Answer calls for maintenance quickly and fully prepared to make any repairs needed.
- Should be visible and readily available on the plant floor as much as possible to assist each other and all other departments as needed.
- Complete preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, both while running and during scheduled shutdowns.
- Maintain a safe working environment both in the maintenance shop and on the plant floor.
- Must be food safety minded with attention to details being critical when working on equipment or anywhere near the product.
- Provide and maintain your own hand tools, including, but not limited to wrench sets, miscellaneous pliers, socket sets, hammers, punches, etc.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience: Prior experience in plant maintenance or general commercial mechanic experience. Education: A high school diploma or GED. Qualifications:
- Previous working in the food industry is a plus.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Electrical troubleshooting ability.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Strong understanding of basic tools.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
- Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time, and in hot environments.
- Food manufacturing knowledge is a plus but not required.
Requirements & Physical Demands
- ???Prior experience in plant maintenance or general commercial mechanic experience.
- ?Able to work in a fast-paced environment and must also adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line
- ?Must possess/maintain a valid license to operate applicable equipment.
- ?Able to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
- ?Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc.
- ?Must be able to work around and with various food machinery equipment
- ?Must be able to measure ingredients and follow written instructions
- ?Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift
- ?Ability to work in a loud, hot work environment
- ?Physically capable of moving to all areas of a plant; capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a manufacturing operation.
- ?Willing to work irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off)
- ?Working holidays and weekends is frequently required
- ?Must be 18 years or older?
