The specific role being sought is for one of our manufacturing facilities in the Greater Charlotte/Winston Salem area (Mocksville) which manufactures a diverse group of products with a collective value of several hundred million dollars per year
Responsibilities:
- Drive reliable and meaning Standard Costing within the plant including:
- Daily costing updates for manufactured and purchased parts
- Execute the annual cost roll for material, labor and overhead
- Supporting new product development cost estimates and analysis
- Activities and analysis to improve overall accuracy of product cost
Partner with on-going cost reviews (monthly/quarterly models, manufacturing variances and all other cost analysis) Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities Complete monthly account reconciliations and financial performance analysis Execute and improve close processes and the environment of control Monitor processes and controls relating to financial transactions, recommending and implementing improvements with the Controller and business partners. Support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and work directly with internal/external audit teams Support Operations teams in project and productivity execution Work closely with non-finance team members to drive cost improvements and analysis in all production activities (leveraging Lean manufacturing concepts in the pursuit of continuous improvements) Analyze/Report/Close Capital Projects Partner in Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasting, and Monthly Financial Projections. Provide Meaningful Business Analysis Support and execute adhoc projects as assigned by the Plant Controller Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2+ years of accounting experience
Preferred:
- Strong proficiency in Excel and strong working knowledge of other office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Access); experience in Oracle is a significant plus
- Strong analytical skills: experience working with large data sets is a plus
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of the Lean Manufacturing methodology is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Must work well with internal and external customers.
- advanced degree or chartered certification (CMA, CFA, CPA) is a plus
- 2+ years of cost accounting experience
