BubbleCast - Utility Summary of Job The position serves as Assistant to the Mercury Operator and Assistant Mercury Operator. The goal of this cooperative effort is to safely and efficiently meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The primary responsibilities of the Utility Operator will be to assist in palletizing materials and performing any other tasks to allow the Mercury Operator and Assistant Mercury Operator to fulfill the duties necessary to produce the highest quality finished product. The Utility Operator must perform all quality checks and communicate any failures to the Operator. The Utility Operator will be expected to work where company business needs require. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Packing out all pallets of material. Communicate with the Assistant Mercury Operator (as needed) to determine what material is good or bad. The Utility Operator is responsible for moving into the designated scrap location. Assist in ensuring material is fed into the NGR. Responsible for ensuring that the bagged trim is removed and taken away by the Material Handler as needed. Responsible for tying off material at the forming station at startup. Assist with roll changes, rip outs, and all downtime related events. Keep track of the number of scrap rolls and communicate to the Operator at end of shift. Fill in for the Assistant during lunch, breaks, emergencies, or as scheduled. Responsible for informing Operator when leaving the line. Assist Operator and Assistant with any other tasks as needed. Ensure all team members follow Pregis PPE policies. Complete their section of daily cleaning board. Physical Environmental Demands: This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities: Work in temperatures of 100 plus with high humidity for up to 12-hour shifts. Frequent standing and walking, stooping, and squatting, bending, some kneeling and crawling, occasional bending and twisting, occasional stair climbing. Pushing/Pulling 30 - 50 pounds of force. Occasional reaching, repetitive use of wrist, hands and fingers, frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.
