Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM-5:00 PM, 40 hours/week

Location: Onsite - 4330 Medical Dr, Suite 400 San Antonio, TX 78229

Primary Responsibilities:



  • The Patient Services Representatives is responsible for greeting patients and collecting, recording and balancing payments.
  • Greets patients as they arrive and manages 20-minute wait time
  • Assists patient with intake processes including copying required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Processes walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answers phones and schedules appointments
  • Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed in timely manner
  • Processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned


Physical & Mental Requirements:



  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 40 pounds of force
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
  • Occasional exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of related work experience in a clinical setting, including data entry
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS office (Outlook, Teams, Smartsheet, Excel)
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of medical office procedures
  • Intermediate level of proficiency communicating and providing customer service
  • Beginner level of knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to accurately sort and file materials by alphabetic or numeric systems


Preferred Qualifications:



  • ICD 9 and CPT coding experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)



The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
