Support critical space operations as an Operations Planner - Space Domain Awareness (SDA) at Schriever SFB, CO. In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise in SDA, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design, plan, and execute exercises that prepare Guardians for operations in contested, degraded, and operationally limited environments. Your contributions will directly enhance mission readiness in space operations through comprehensive planning and coordination.

Pay: $148,000 - $163,000

Essential Duties

SDA Exercise Planning & Coordination



  • Serve as the primary liaison between the USSF Exercise team and Delta 2, ensuring effective coordination of SDA requirements for service-level exercises, Flashpoint events, and mission-focused operations.
  • Develop SDA exercise scenarios, including timing, effects, and anticipated player actions, in collaboration with USSF exercise planners.
  • Coordinate manning and support requirements with subject matter experts from the USSF exercise team and Delta 2 units.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Training Integration



  • Gather information and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to integrate SDA training needs into exercises and events.
  • Identify gaps and shortfalls in modeling and simulation (M&S) tools necessary for realistic exercise environments.


Exercise Execution & After-Action Support



  • Participate in the USSF service-level exercise White Cell and Exercise Control Group to ensure successful execution of SDA-related operations.
  • Support post-exercise activities, including hot wash debriefs and after-action report development, capturing lessons learned to improve future exercises.


Documentation & Reporting



  • Prepare comprehensive event-related documents (e.g., trip reports, exercise planning/execution products, after-action reports, and meeting minutes) in accordance with contractual timelines.
  • Assist in planning conferences, coordination meetings, and training events as part of the USSF exercise cycle.


Additional Responsibilities



  • Complete tasks as directed by contract leadership to ensure mission success for the 392 CTS.


Required Qualifications



  • Experience working with Delta 2 and its subordinate units, CSpOC, or the NSDC.
  • Proficiency in orbital warfare payload missions and understanding SDA-related tasks.
  • Familiarity with Space Surveillance Network (SSN) tasking, satellite catalog maintenance, and collaboration with Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) and interagency coalition partners.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience coordinating SDA capabilities for rendezvous proximity operations (RPO).
  • Level III certification in System Toolkit (STK).
  • Certification as an Orbital Analyst.
  • Graduate of Space 300 and 319 CTS/ASOPS Advanced Orbital Mechanics courses.


Education & Certification



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement


Required Clearance



  • Top Secret/SCI with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.


Travel



  • Limited travel (less than 4-5 weeks/year).
