Description

Support critical US Space Force operations as a USSF Exercise Planner at Schriever SFB, CO. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute high-impact exercises that prepare Guardians for operations in a contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to mission success by ensuring realistic, mission-oriented training for the USSF.

Pay: $150,000 - $163,000

Essential Duties

Exercise Planning & Execution



  • Lead a team of planners and subject matter experts to design and execute USSF exercises, including SPACE FLAG, POLARIS HAMMER, Flashpoint, and SKIES series.
  • Organize planning conferences and working groups with stakeholders to develop exercise environments based on current and future Red/Blue/Grey force capabilities.
  • Integrate inputs from internal and external stakeholders, including Delta and Joint organizations, to ensure comprehensive exercise planning.
  • Oversee coordination of manning and resources with units and Field Commands to ensure successful execution.


Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Collaborate with STARCOM to identify and coordinate resource requirements for exercises.
  • Manage Modeling & Simulation (M&S) activities, resolving resource conflicts and ensuring smooth exercise execution.
  • Lead the USSF White Cell and Exercise Control Group, managing timing, tempo, and overall exercise flow.


Evaluation & Improvement



  • Conduct hot wash debriefs and manage after-action report development.
  • Identify gaps and shortfalls in M&S tools and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Analyze and report lessons learned from exercises to enhance future performance.


Documentation & Reporting



  • Prepare event-related documents, including trip reports, exercise planning products, after-action reports, and meeting minutes, within established deadlines.
  • Attend USSF exercise-related meetings and provide updates as required by the government.


Additional Responsibilities



  • Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership to ensure mission success for the 392 CTS.


Required Qualifications



  • 7-10+ years of space operations experience.
  • Proven experience designing, planning, preparing, executing, and evaluating space capabilities in Service, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), or Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises.
  • Strong project management experience in the DoD or Intelligence Community (IC), applying processes to deliver project milestones effectively.
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts to ensure the success of complex projects.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Graduate of USAF Weapons School.
  • PMP certification or a Certificate of Project Management from an accredited institution.
  • Experience managing DoD or IC projects from design to execution.
  • Additional experience designing and evaluating space capabilities within large-scale exercises.


Education & Certification



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.


Required Clearance



  • Top Secret/SCI with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.


Travel



  • Limited travel required (less than 4-5 weeks/year)
