CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineering Designer II to join our Utilities Infrastructure - Electric Distribution Team at our Albany, NY location.

CHA's distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.

The Engineering Designer II assists with the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and documents. At CHA, our Engineering Designer II collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Engineering Designer II uses drawing production software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation to create construction documents. This individual will also develop the ability to independently establish simple or routine contract drawings, and attain knowledge of the engineering discipline standards, codes, and systems through assisting with contract document preparation and examining contract documents or drawings for errors.

Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering science or related technical field is required
• A minimum of 2 years' experience of document production experience in the related engineering discipline
• Proficient with discipline-based software specifically MicroStation and Civil3D
• Demonstrates a good working knowledge about the respective engineering discipline
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
• Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist senior staff

$29.80 - $36.05

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
