Overview:

We are working with our Chicago-based client to locate an experienced Instructional Designer to support the development and maintenance of training content for its technology division. This role will contribute to a variety of learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop blended learning solutions, including job aids (Word, PowerPoint), facilitation guides (PowerPoint), microlearning videos (Articulate 360), and interactive web-based training (Storyline, Rise).
  • Collaborate with internal team members to co-facilitate training sessions delivered via Teams and WebEx, incorporating breakout rooms and polling features.
  • Ensure training materials are clear, engaging, and interactive, adapting the level of interactivity as needed.
  • Work with SMEs and existing documentation to develop new content as required.
  • Utilize AI tools where appropriate, in accordance with company policies.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Instructional Design experience, with a strong background in eLearning development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), and WebEx.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
  • WalkMe experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to adapt, collaborate, and contribute across multiple projects.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Additional Details:

  • All required software and a laptop will be provided.
  • The number of courses will vary, and content development needs will be determined based on existing materials.
  • No specific industry or subject matter expertise is required, though versatility and adaptability are key.


This is an excellent opportunity for an Instructional Designer who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to impactful learning initiatives.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months with extension to 12 months likely

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Virtual but with occasional travel

The pay range is $55 to $60 per hour and will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
