We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lead AI Data Scientist to join the AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) at Cox Communications. This enterprise team is at the forefront of AI innovation, driving transformational initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will lead, mentor, and oversee the development of AI-powered solutions and standards, enabling agentic AI, building and scaling AI platforms, onboarding customers, and standardizing AI and ML architecture. By prototyping and owning cloud-native AI applications, the team ensures robust, scalable, and cutting-edge solutions that address complex challenges and drive enterprise-wide impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of AI-powered solutions and associated standards that drive innovation and address complex challenges, fostering transformational initiatives for the enterprise.
  • Designs advanced data-driven processes, creates machine learning algorithms, and develops predictive models to enhance planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Drives enterprise initiatives as an AI subject matter expert, determines optimal use of AI capabilities, builds capability roadmaps, identifies opportunities, and supports buy/build decisions.
  • Defines and creates target state enterprise AI capabilities, integrations, enablement, and operationalization by engaging with cross-functional technical and business partners to ensure alignment.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience in a related field; or 20 years' experience in a related field
  • Experience leading AI projects from conception to deployment
  • Experience creating capability roadmaps and standards for development lifecycles
  • Experience with application of AI/ML frameworks and technologies (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Langchain, Anthrophic, OpenAI, ollama, HuggingFace, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, AWS Sagemaker)
  • Experience with programming in Python
  • Experience in at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for AI solutions

  • Graduate degree strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders across business units to drive to drive large-scale initiatives
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in Agile methodologies
  • Strong communication skills


Analytical:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making
  • Experience in performance measurement and optimization of AI/ML/analytics solutions


USD 144,900.00 - 241,500.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $144,900.00 - $241,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
