Strategic Communications Specialist UVA Community Health

Responsible for creating and implementing communications plans to support key organizational initiatives. Reporting to the Manager of Communications at UVA Community Health, the Specialist translates organizational strategies into key messages and develops appropriate internal and external communications materials in support of operational needs. This role specifically supports communication requirements for UVA Community Health, a part of the UVA Health organization that comprises an integrated network of three medical centers and dozens of outpatient clinics across parts of Northern and Central Virginia, particularly in Prince William, Fauquier and Culpeper counties. The ideal candidate will live in this market geography and be accessible for on-site needs at any of the UVA Community Health locations as required. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to build and execute communications plans for internal and external stakeholder audiences, strong writing skills, digital content creation skills, and a natural ability to think strategically while delivering tactical results. This role works with leadership to communicate information in support of UVA Health. The ideal candidate will have an emerging understanding of both the communications profession and project management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Experience: At least two years of experience in corporate or executive communications, internal communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
