Are you someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep facilities running smoothly and ensuring that visitors have a positive experience? The Erie Community Center is looking for a Facility Operations Attendant to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness and organization of our facilities at Erie Community Center, Erie Community Park, Ball Park Erie and Coal Creek Park, while delivering exceptional service to our patrons.

In this role, you'll play a key part in the upkeep of our spaces, helping with maintenance tasks, managing inventory, and responding to work orders, all while providing outstanding customer service. ANTICIPATED WORK SCHEDULE:




  • This position will be scheduled at least 20 hours per week; Monday - Friday; between the hours of 8am - 4pm.




Part-time could also include early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed; not to exceed 130 hours/month on average. Schedule may vary depending on program specific needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performs custodial services at the Erie Community Center, Erie Community Park, Coal Creek Cafe and Ballpark at Erie which includes maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of restrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, offices, and public areas; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; dusting surfaces and fixtures; emptying trash and recycling bins; and ensuring all areas are safe, hygienic, and welcoming for visitors and staff.
  • Performs custodial services on fitness equipment at the Erie Community Center, including daily dusting, cleaning, and light routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and a safe, clean environment for all users.
  • Assist with building maintenance services at the Erie Community Center, Erie Community Park, Coal Creek Cafe and Ballpark at Erie which includes assisting with facility maintenance requests, work order submissions and other building related needs.
  • May perform ground maintenance duties, including but not limited to trash removal, leaf clearing, vandalism cleanup, and snow and ice removal.
  • Serves as a leader and role model within the Facility Operations team, consistently demonstrating PEAK customer service and setting a positive example for others to follow.
  • Assists with various errands to other Town facilities, third-party suppliers, or to the storage unit as needed.
  • May assist other areas of Recreation with special projects, including organizing, cleaning, and supporting additional tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Checks the Facility Calendar daily and ensures all setup and teardown equipment for activities, rentals, meetings, and special events are completed in a timely and efficient manner, meeting the specific requirements for each event.
  • Maintains an inventory of facility equipment and conducts regular safety checks to ensure all items, including tables, chairs, walls, doors, furniture, and various supplies, are in proper working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Ensure restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas are consistently stocked with cleaning supplies, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other essential items, maintaining a clean and functional environment for all guests and staff.
  • Assists with the opening and closing of specific areas of Town facilities including the Erie Community Center, Erie Community Park and Coal Creek Park.
  • Operate Town owned vehicles, including but not limited to cars, golf carts, lifts and gators safely and responsibly following established policies and procedures set by the Town. May also aid the monthly vehicle safety checks, completing paperwork where necessary.
  • Communicate with Assistant Coordinators, Coordinators and MODs on current projects.
  • Assists Assistant Coordinator with monthly checklists, meetings, safety checks, daily record logs, incident reports and other necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure the safety of guests and program participants by enforcing all rules and policies with staff and guests and practicing safe food handling procedures.
  • Provides exceptional guest service to all guests. Responds to information requests, comments, and complaints from the public.
  • May need to administer first aid, CPR, and other medical attention as needed.
  • Maintains frequent communications with other staff and volunteers within the Community Center and Division. Reports any issues or concerns with inventory, facility conditions, policies and incidents to supervisory staff as needed.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and training.

  • Inspect facilities and program areas to ensure a safe environment. Report on safety concerns as needed.
  • Interpret, communicate, and enforce all Department, Town, County, State and Federal policies and procedures within areas of program responsibility.
  • Complete all required safety training courses in a timely manner and ensure staff compliance.
  • Develop and accomplish goals and objectives to support the Department and Town mission.


Other/Miscellaneous



  • May aid the Facility Maintenance Department when available.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of facility maintenance or related experience required.



CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS



  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certification within three months of employment.
  • Valid driver's license for operation of a motor vehicle in Colorado and possess a satisfactory driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required include experience with tools necessary to perform all duties; ability to use equipment and chemicals associated with cleaning and building facility maintenance; able to understand and follow both oral and written instructions; related facility/custodial maintenance and basic computer knowledge and skills.

Skills in: Initiative and decision-making; verbal and written communication; outstanding customer service to a diverse population; time management, meeting deadlines, responding to internal and external requests in a timely manner; the use of standard office equipment, computers, and various software programs; positive and professional working relationships with all Town staff and the community; conflict resolution; problem solving; remaining composed in emergency situations and working effectively under stressful circumstances; performing CPR, First Aid, and AED to level of certification.

Environmental Factors:

This position requires work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions, including wind, rain, and snow. Tasks may involve walking on uneven surfaces. This role also includes regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional dust. Travel between town facilities and external buildings is required daily. While most work is performed in a facility setting, the nature of tasks can change based on operational needs.

Physical Factors:

This position is physically demanding, requiring prolonged standing, extensive walking, and repetitive motion tasks, including stacking chairs, folding tables, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching above the head or below the knees are necessary. Ladder climbing and the use of a mechanical lift to 30 feet occur multiple times per week. This role also involves pushing, pulling, and grasping various objects, including tools, tables, and chairs. While this position involves some sitting, it requires consistent physical activity throughout the shift.
