POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Accountant manages project finances, ensuring accuracy and compliance. They reconcile draws to project costs, process wire transfers, and prepare progress payment draws. They also review project financials, including budget variances and cash flow, and ensure contractor invoices are accurate. The role involves working with lenders, title companies, and internal teams, providing audit support, and assisting with forecasting, reporting, and other special projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Reconciles draws to project costs, ensuring balance sheet accounts are accurate.
  2. Processes wire transfers for contractor payments, accounts payable, and other financial transfers.
  3. Prepares and submits progress payment draws, ensuring all documents are accurate.
  4. Prepares monthly reviews of project financials, including budget variances and cash flow projections.
  5. Reviews contractor invoices and payment applications for accuracy and compliance.
  6. Works closely with lenders, title companies, fiscal agents, housing authorities, and internal teams.
  7. Provides documentation and support for internal and external audits.
  8. Assists with ad hoc tasks like forecasting, reporting, or financial analysis; and other projects as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 2 years of accounting experience, real estate industry accounting preferred.
  3. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; and the ability to navigate file structures efficiently.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work independently to complete goals.


PAY: $60,000-$67,000/year + 5% bonus eligibility
