Description
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Peer Review Specialist to work on our Nuclear Energy External Innovation Integration team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. As a Peer Review Specialist you will manage competitive solicitations for the Department of Energy-NE that support research portfolios for domestic universities, national laboratories, and industry. Complete duties are focused on the front-end review and back-end management of awards of various funding efforts ranging from $5M-50M in federal grant funding. Responsibilities Include:
- Developing funding opportunities, requests for information, and requests for applications.
- Working with the Department of Energy for contract management, eligibility questions, and documentation questions from external applicants.
- Performing initial compliance reviews for funding opportunity.
- Recruiting peer reviewers by reading proposals and finding the best experts to review.
- Managing the peer review process, using data analysis to compile reviews, hosting review panels, and reviewing feedback from peer reviewers.
- Compiling final recommendation documentation for the Department of Energy.
- Interfacing with internal and external partners for developing funding opportunity documents.
- Providing strategic recommendations to managers and other partners.
- Communicating funding opportunities to internal and external individuals, which includes developing and presenting slides and acting as the point of contact for questions.
- Assisting in the management of DOE funded awards through review of data management plans, technical data collection, and reporting.
- Performing complex work with little or no direction, based on in-depth knowledge of program elements and contracting principles.
- You will report to the Department Manager
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 1: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Project Management, Data Science or Technical Field and 0 years of experience.
- Level 2: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Project Management, Data Science or Technical Field and 2 years of experience, Master's and 0 years experience, PhD and 0 years experience.
- Familiarity with data manipulation and management in database systems such as FedConnect, Portfolio Analysis and Management System (PAMS), Grants.Gov, PICS, or similar systems.
- This position is subject to Export Control restrictions per the Deportment of Energy. You must be either a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident.
Preferred Experience:
- Technical degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience working directly with DOE.
- Knowledge of nuclear science and engineering topics.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is: Level 1 $46,392.00 - $90,564.00 / Level 2 $56,196.00 - $109,644.00. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
- Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
