Overview

Breast Health Imaging Coordinator - Mammographer

Full Time; 7:00am-3:30pm

Monday-Friday

Moline, IL

The Breast Imaging Mammography Navigator assumes a senior role in developing and maintaining quality patient services within the breast center, ensuring patients have continuity of care by improving time from abnormal mammogram through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up as needed via a survivorship plan of care. Serves as a point of contact for referring physicians, patients and caregivers to provide assistance with accessing clinical and supportive care services offered within Trinity and in the community.


Responsibilities

Coordination of Care

  • Facilitates coordination of patient care services and patient flow
  • Coordinates breast biopsies and interactions with breast biopsy patients before, during and after procedure
  • Coordinates care with Radiologists and breast center staff
  • Liaison between breast center, patient and ordering physician office.
  • Sets up surgical referrals as needed.
  • Active team member both intradepartmental and interdepartmentally
  • Inputs data into the mammography tracking software program for breast pathology and clinical care.
  • Documents appropriately

Quality

  • Incorporates best practice guidelines, research, evidence-based care and current trends into program development.
  • Guides patients and family to informed decision-making.
  • Inputs data into the mammography tracking software program for breast pathology and clinical care.
  • Participates in quality improvement activity and ensures accurate and timely data collection.
  • Documents appropriately
  • Enhances facility safety and regulatory outcomes by maintaining compliance with applicable agencies and laws.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of JRCERT approved school for Radiologic Technology with equivalent training and experience as required by the licensing bodies. Additional Mammography education as required by licensing bodies.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiology and Mammography. If cross-trained into Mammography from Radiography, has 12 months from completion of training period to successfully pass Mammography Registry.
  • Holds a current license or conditional license from the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency and/or the Iowa Department of Public Health.
  • Current CPR
