Duties, Responsibilities & Other Minimum of 5 - 9 years of experience in the planning and design of water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure. Experience shall include the hydraulic and mechanical designs for water and wastewater pumping stations, storage facilities, and treatment plants. Shall be knowledgeable of piping, valving & pumping design for water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Capable of coordinating designs with various disciplines to include electrical, survey, civil, structural, architectural and environmental. Current with regulatory requirements and permitting related to water and wastewater systems. Experience needed with preparing contract documents to include contract drawings and specifications.
One or more of the following as it relates to water/wastewater engineering: 1. In a supervisory capacity plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a large and important project or a number of small projects with complex features. A substantial portion of the work supervised is comparable to that decrypted for a Sr. Design Engineer. 2. As individual researcher or worker, carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or imported techniques and procedures. Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined equipment, materials, processes, products and or scientific methods 3. As a staff specialist, develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment. Usually performs as a staff adviser and consultant as to a technical specialty.
