JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Foamer I has ownership of the assigned foam machine(s). They are responsible for the efficiency, quality, and overall productivity of the machine and product foamed, as well as the proper working condition of the foam jigs and equipment in their assigned work area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Very good knowledge of the Rotational Foaming process.

  • Have a very good understanding of the Jigs, materials, and machinery.

  • Must work as a trimmer and repair person as needed.

  • Inspection of parts based on established quality guidelines before and after foaming.

  • Using and following prism-based schedules for foaming products that assembly needs.

  • Able to order jigs as needed.

  • Prepare parts for foaming, including venting, and adding spacers or shims and rods.

  • Set up cycle time on each of the foam machine counters.

  • Effectively clean excess foam from part(s), Gun and foam jig.

  • Request and monitor hardware used to account for usage in Prism.

  • Record parts on schedule and perform the needed PR.

  • Knowledge of machine functions; identify a good foam sample, acceptable for temps and operating pressures are within guidelines.

  • Perform a sample check of the foam mixture.

  • Use the prism-based schedule to foam parts needed by assembly.

  • Orders jigs needed to be brought over or removed in order to follow the schedule.

  • Inspects part based on established quality guidelines.

  • Preps for foaming including venting, adding spacers or shims and rods.

  • Removes part/s from foam jig and inspects them using established quality guidelines and no-go gauges.

  • Clean part excess foam from part/s and foam jig.

  • Maintain a personal minimum efficiency rating of 100%

  • Monitors foam amount used to minimize waste.

  • Records production in prism generated by Scheduler.

  • Insures that the machine is in good working order by monitoring machine pressures while shooting foam.

  • Take samples every two hours to ensure mix quality is present.

  • Report machine or sample deviations to the Supervisor, Lead or Shift Manager for corrections.

  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.

  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.

  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.

  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.

  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.

  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.

  • Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).

  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.

  • Other duties as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Lectro Treat Equipment to include

    • Lifting un-foamed parts on table

    • Inserting foam plug, sealing vents with glue or tape, and minor repairs.

    • Filling parts using argon equipment

    • Loading part into Lectro treat tunnel

    • Prepare part to be foamed

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Comprehend instructions and communicate effectively.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ERP system experience with Prism, Intermec, and/or AS400 system

  • Bilingual in Spanish.

  • Forklift certified.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting, walking, standing, bending at the neck, bending at the waist, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, twisting at the neck and waist, repetitive use of hands, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder, carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Driving cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment

  • Working around equipment and machinery

  • Exposure to excessive noise

  • Exposure to dust, gas, fumes or chemicals

  • Working at heights

  • Use of special visual or auditory protective equipment

  • Walking on uneven ground

  • Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement

  • Risk of exposure to bio-hazard while working such as: bloodborne pathogens, sewage, hospital waste, etc.

PPE REQUIREMENTS

  • Safety glasses

  • Utility gloves

  • Steel-toe slip-resistant shoes

  • Hardhat

  • Hearing protection (e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs)

  • Face shields

  • Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$17.10 - $18.75

Salary may vary based on experience.
