Under the direct supervision and mentorship of the Fabrication Lab Coordinator, Fab Lab Assistants will be involved in a wide range of projects with varying levels of complexity. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: assisting lab users by providing guidance and support for their production needs; performing various lab and equipment maintenance tasks, assisting with construction/fabrication projects, performing building maintenance duties in Pearl Hall, and monitoring for the safety of all Fab Lab users. Additional responsibilities will include the ability to move and lift objects up to 30lbs, operating analog tools and equipment in the woodshop and metal shop, as well as digital fabrication equipment such as laser cutters, CNC routers, CNC plasma cutters, and associated software/programs. All applicants must have the capacity to maintain a safe and professional attitude. The successful candidate will be required to complete all required safety and equipment trainings.
