Oversee day-to-day Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program requirements, ensuring alignment with corporate EHS priorities.
Conduct safety and environmental training, lead safety meetings, and perform audits and inspections of manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor performance metrics, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide ongoing mentoring to drive continuous improvement.
Compile and report EHS-related data, preparing management reports on safety activities at the assigned location.
Assist with updating and implementing corporate safety training programs, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate with the Corporate Transportation Manager to provide leadership and guidance on transportation safety programs.
Support compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and respond to regulatory inquiries as directed by the Regional EHS Manager.
Assist management in ensuring employee, contractor, and vendor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
Apply expertise in air emissions, SWPPP, SPCC, NPDES, OSHA, and other safety and environmental program requirements.
Collaborate with Regional EHS/HR Manager to identify and evaluate medical providers, ensuring compliance with corporate return-to-work protocols.
Investigate incidents involving corporate property, employees, or third-party property, conducting root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences.
Lead incident analysis, utilizing root cause analysis and leadership 5-why exercises to develop and implement corrective actions.
Evaluate employee incidents for OSHA recordkeeping criteria and track lost or restricted workdays for OSHA-reportable injuries/illnesses.
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in EHS compliance and management within manufacturing operations.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with risk assessment, process safety, machine guarding, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and root cause analysis.
Strong knowledge of federal and local health and safety regulations.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and take initiative.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Proficiency in standard business software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
