GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Employee Health and Wellness Manager provides leadership and supervision of daily operations for Employee Health Services functions, Wellness, and all leave management programs. Assures the delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a manner reflective of the Bryan Health's mission, vision, values and beliefs. Possesses managerial and clinical skills appropriate to the scope of responsibility. Manages the cost center's fiscal, material and human resources emphasizing staff retention strategies. Participates in department, division and organization-wide initiatives focusing on regulatory compliance and performance improvement. Provides nursing coverage in the employee health clinic as needed.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

*Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

*Develops and initiates service/program activities congruent with organizational goals.

*Develops, implements, and analyzes adherence to organizational, service-specific standards of care and policies and procedures.

* Provide leadership and supervision of Bryan's wellness program, addressing the components of health, mental and physical fitness of all employees utilizing preventive means that provide measurable results; markets and promotes health

*Empowers staff to actively participate in department and organizational committees/councils and to operationalize the hospital vision, beliefs and patient-centered principles; mentors staff in quality performance efforts and fosters a 'culture' based on continuous improvement.

*Reviews and amends the scope statement for the department on an annual basis.

*Incorporates age-specific and cultural considerations in the delivery of care; ensures an environment that is safe, clean, clutter-free and customer-focused.

*Engages in assigned hospital management, clinical and organizational meetings.

*Develops and manages a capital, operational and human resource budget based on strategic departmental priorities, best practices and organizational standards; analyzes and resolves variances.

*Hires and manages staff who demonstrate behaviors consistent with Bryan beliefs; acts as chief retention officer for the department.

*Assures staff members receive an orientation and ongoing educational development based upon organization and department requirements and individualized employee needs/expectations.

*Recommends prioritized annual competency requirements based on the needs and scope of the department and identified job performance expectations.

*Conducts timely staff performance appraisals assuring staff competence while emphasizing staff retention strategies through coaching and individual development.

*Ensures ongoing compliance with corporate, Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Master's degree preferably in an area such as Occupational Health, Public Health, or similar fields of study. CNS preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in Employee Health or Occupational Health required. Employee wellness experience preferred. Prior first line management experience highly desired.
