Position Summary

Methode Electronics is seeking a Finance Intern to support our SEC reporting, financial compliance, and corporate accounting processes. This internship provides hands-on experience in public company financial reporting, SEC filings, and SOX compliance, offering exposure to real-world applications of GAAP, financial disclosures, and regulatory updates.

The intern will work alongside experienced finance professionals, gaining valuable insight into corporate finance, financial statement analysis, and compliance within a publicly traded company.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing and reviewing SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.

* Support financial statement analysis and disclosures to ensure compliance with SEC regulations and GAAP.

* Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data and footnotes used in external reporting.

* Conduct research on SEC reporting standards, accounting policies, and regulatory updates.

* Assist in SOX compliance documentation and process improvements related to financial reporting.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, FP&A, Legal) to support financial reporting tasks.

* Support month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

* Assist in financial modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting to support corporate finance initiatives.

Qualifications

* Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

* Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and financial disclosures (preferred).

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

* Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in public company finance and SEC reporting, equipping candidates with skills essential for careers in corporate finance, accounting, or financial compliance. Given this exposure opportunity, the position is based onsite, 5-days a week.

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $20 to $25 dollars per hour depending on anticipated graduation year and prior internships or experience.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
