Process Overview

The team hosts various user studies provided from the client, that require us to monitor and evaluate various forms of data collections. The team hosts various studies that range from speech, sound, movement, gesture, motion capture, and facial recognition that are intended to provide data to train machine learning models.

Role of a Project Lead & Quality Expert

The role of a Project Lead & Quality Expert is a crucial part of the success of operations to ensure the team performs to the highest quality standard. The person in this role is a strong communicator and has an excellent understanding of existing processes, policies, stakeholders, procedures, and is an effective mentor to the team. A PLQE is responsible for reviewing proctors for compliance, ownership, and accuracy. Ensuring the graded members of their project are meeting client expectations and are resolving performance issues in collections. They will assist with providing feedback to members who are associated with their projects, oversee their assigned data collection projects from end to end, and are responsible for resolving any blockers or challenges that are encountered in those projects. The person in this role should be able to perform quality audits as per the process norms, identify and report on operational and quality trends, be able to monitor and assist the team during production hours, and be able to guide and manage the team with all updates and changes in direction from the client.

Responsibilities & Requirements :
  • Supervise data collection processes from preparation, setup implementation, and quality control.
  • Accountable for the completion of delegated tasks assigned to their projects including but not limited to; stakeholder requests, artifact upkeep, triaging bugs, expected quality of reporting, and device management (device setup, tracking, uploads, and issues)
  • Conduct both quality evaluations and data collections for various projects
  • Implement feedback from project associates and participants to improve user experience and data quality.
  • Detailed understanding of collection protocols and handling of queries
  • Reporting during set cadence for business reviews with the client.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure the successful implementation of process changes and all associated tasks that support the process (artifact updates, device shipment, allocation, setup, associate training, and expected reporting)
  • Oversee communications between client and project associates and ensure timely resolution of inquiries
  • Drive compliance and follow through with team members assigned to their projects for all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example through support, motivation, and mentoring of all team members who are assigned to their projects
  • Identify and maintain project devices, item inventory for all locations including shipping and procurement of new and existing items or devices.
  • Hosting weekly project meetings to conduct weekly check-ins with project associates.
  • Track metrics for the team and create relevant action plans
  • Reporting for business reviews
  • Reporting performance reviews for assigned project members
  • Updating documentation for internal planning tools
  • Travel to all relevant collection locations if located in Bay Area: MTV & SF
  • Detailed and timely reporting to Team Leads about their projects including status of collection, weekly metrics, blockers or potential issues, and other mentionables that should be brought to leadership's attention.
  • Training of team members on new or existing workflows and any required refreshers.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate
  • Experience : Min Experience required: (1.5 - 3 years in similar industry or role) / should have mentored a team / or played a role of an acting Team lead
  • Attention to detail, good decision making skills
  • Critical thinking and adaptability
  • Excellent communication & writing skills
  • Ability to work under the stipulated timelines and be able to multitask
  • Should be able to identify the areas of opportunity that will contribute to the overall development of the process metrics
  • Should be flexible in terms of shifts, taking responsibility, and Initiatives for the process
  • Strong knowledge on the uses of Google sheets, slides, docs, etc.
  • No attendance or compliance issues

Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $23-$25 per hour, dependent on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
