Job Title: GIS Specialist II
Location: Hunt Valley, MD (Hybrid)
Salary: $80,000 - $125,000/annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
We are looking for an experienced GIS Specialist II to join our team. This role is integral in supporting state and local government entities with GIS services and asset management. As a GIS Specialist II, you will focus on assisting municipalities and utility clients by providing GIS support, database management, and infrastructure management consultation services. Additionally, you will help implement and support asset management software packages.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients and team members to meet project goals.
- Attend client meetings, identify key action items, and execute those items to ensure client needs are met.
- Compile and collate GIS data to support asset management efforts and client-specific needs.
- Involvement in both technical and managerial responsibilities, with the opportunity to shape the position based on your experience and interests.
This position is ideal for an individual passionate about developing a well-rounded skill set in both technical GIS work and client relations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field with a focus in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Experience:
- More than 5 years of relevant experience in GIS and asset management, ideally in a professional setting.
- Familiarity with Esri's best practices for creating and maintaining metadata and data storage.
- Proficiency in Esri software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Server.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills using Esri products or other GIS technologies.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Adaptability to implement innovative solutions to meet evolving client needs.
- Experience with municipal government or utility operations is a plus, though not required.
- Exposure to asset management and/or software implementations is desirable.
