The Senior Auditor position evaluates Credit Union processes in areas of accuracy and reliability of financial reporting, effectiveness and efficiency of operational controls, compliance with laws and regulations, and risk management. The position is responsible for planning and performing complex internal audits, creating audit programs based on research and walkthroughs, drafting audit findings and draft reports, and communicating audit results to Credit Union management. The Senior Auditor position also assists in performing fraud and member complaint investigations. The Senior Auditor is expected to obtain 40 hours of professional education annually and participate/join audit professional and Credit Union industry groups.

* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Thorough understanding of internal audit principles and fraud risks
* Experience with banking practices and regulatory compliance
* Analytical skills to analyze complex information and problem-solving skills to develop practical and effective recommendations

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
* Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
* Ability to sit for extended time periods
* Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
* Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
* Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
