DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee shop instruction and provide on-the-job training to inmates assigned to the welding shop at your institution. You will supervise inmates, ensuring their care, custody, and control. Your responsibilities will include teaching welding practices, methods, and procedures, such as arc, gas, and tack welding, as well as silver soldering and brazing techniques. You will plan and assign tasks to inmates undergoing welding training, monitor and inspect work in progress, and complete necessary welding for the maintenance and repair of steel and metal structures. Additionally, you will maintain records related to repairs, training progress, inventory, wages, and attendance. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in arc and gas welding of various components or structural frameworks; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the welding trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the welding trade.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
