Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registrar, Trauma/Data - Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate The Trauma Registrar is responsible for gathering, organizing, and reporting trauma data for our patients, ensuring compliance with NY State mandates, and the maintenance of our Trauma Registry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in service meetings, current literature and workshops.
- Identification of all trauma patients discharged from the hospital who are candidates for entry into the Trauma Registry
- Collection, abstraction, and input of data into the Trauma Registry as per facility, regional and state guidelines.
- Export data on a predetermined schedule to designated State and Regional agencies
- Participation in scheduled regional Trauma Registrar meetings.
- Maintain the facilitys Trauma Registry
- Act as a resource person for other departments with regard to statistical information on trauma patients through the QA/QI process.
- Preparation of demographic and statistical reports to support evaluation and improvement of trauma care through the QA/QI process.
- Participation in trauma QA/QI programs at the hospital and regional level.
- Participation in trauma research and educational Activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- To qualify you must have a High School Diploma Required.
- Associate Degree preferred.
- 1 year relevant experience.
- Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Clinical background and/or experience with abstracting or medical record coding essential.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of NY State Trauma software.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $50,219.83 - $75,955.36 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
