Overview
The Illinois CancerCare Foundation Program and Development Manager will primarily be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of the Foundation's fundraising, including but not exclusive to, the major gifts recognition program, annual fund, and special events. The Program and Development Manager works closely with The Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all development and fund raising endeavors. Responsibilities
- Execute a portfolio of community based events.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies and programs.
- Create fundraising goals and solicit funds to ensure goal achievement through effective leadership, engagement, empowerment and mobilization of volunteers.
- Oversee the efficacy and efficiency of all Foundation related activities.
- Meet all target deadlines in order to execute successful events.
- Direct and coordinate solicitation of funds.
- Identify new donors and revenue opportunities at the community level.
- Recruit, engage, train and manage relationships with community volunteers
- Facilitate Foundation volunteer retention and ensure meaningful volunteer recognition.
- Act as liaison with funding partners and organizations
- Assist in developing major gift opportunities and writing grant proposals
- Create functional strategies, develop and monitor budgets to support fundraising programs and take appropriate measures to meet top line and bottom line goals ensuring a high ROI in meeting revenue targets.
- Maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with Illinois CancerCare, P.C. and Illinois CancerCare Foundation peers.
- Model and foster behavior that establishes a culture that values the staff/volunteer partnership and is consistent with the values, goals and objectives of the Foundation to create an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, accountability, empowerment and dedication to our mission.
- Partner with all Foundation staff in the day-to-day performance of event support.
- Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.
- Proficiency in all department processes.
- Adherence to the ILCC employee handbook, HIPAA policies and ILCC code of conduct.
- Must be available to work evening and weekend committee meetings, events and programs.
- This is a salaried position and requires additional work hours as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires sitting at desk for extensive periods of time.
- Loading, unloading, setup and teardown of event materials.
- Requires lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
- Requires periodic bending, reaching, squatting, stooping.

- The employee has limited exposure to toxic substance and is expected to be familiar with the dangers and proper handling of such.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years of progressive event management and development experience. Experience with OneCause, Donor Perfect, Square, Canva, and Microsoft Suite a plus. Medical background a plus.
