Our team in Corporate Group is looking for a Manager of US Payroll Operations to join them. You will report to the Director of Global HR Operations and Technology and will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

As the Manager of US Payroll Operations, you will lead a team responsible for processing payroll for over 7,500 employees across 40+ states. Your role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely employee payments, while managing the configuration and processes necessary for payroll and tax payments through related systems. You will collaborate with various internal corporate departments to gather and validate payroll information, resolve payroll discrepancies, and provide exceptional service to our employees.

To be considered for the Manager of US Payroll Operations role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or a similar accounting role.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team, including coaching, developing, and leading team members.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, ideally Workday and ADP, with general experience in time and attendance systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, regulations, taxation, and statutory compliance across multiple states in the United States.
  • Experience handling payroll audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
  • Excellent understanding of financial and accounting principles, with the ability to reconcile payroll with financial records.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing complex payroll calculations.
  • Experience compiling, submitting, and auditing multi-state tax filings and payroll. Specific experience in New York and California is strongly preferred.
  • Mastery level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Relevant professional certification in payroll management, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), is preferred.

As a Manager of US Payroll Operations, you will drive:

  • Managing and leading the team responsible for all aspects of multi-state US payroll, including end-to-end payroll processing, managing our 3rd party tax vendor, and the configuration of systems and processes in Workday and ADP.
  • Conducting regular payroll audits and ensuring compliance with United States labor laws, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Collecting, calculating, and inputting payroll data for all employees, while maintaining accurate employee pay records, including attendance, leaves and personal information.
  • Collaboration with HR and Finance to seamlessly integrate payroll and employee data.
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, and company policies while processing payroll.
  • Managing the relationship with ADP, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective communication and coordination between Moog teams and the vendor.
  • Collaboration with HR, Finance, and other departments to gather and validate payroll information, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes.
  • Monitoring and resolution of payroll discrepancies, investigating and resolving issues promptly and accurately.
  • Generating payroll reports, including tax filings, benefits deductions, and other required reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Addressing employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.
  • Staying updated on payroll regulations, US Federal and State tax laws, and industry trends, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and best practices.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $115,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
