The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is offering apprenticeships to individuals currently enrolled in applicable technical curriculums to give them practical experience during their education. This program includes opportunities to work part time during the school period and full time within school breaks. We are committed to providing these trainees with a unique learning opportunity that will help them advance toward industry licensure and potential full-time permanent employment at JAX. The training provided in this apprenticeship will compliment general educational requirements. Those who complete their professional training, including a JAX apprenticeship in facilities services, will have the opportunity to be hired at JAX in a full-time position and earn a family-sustaining wage.

In addition to being paid an hourly wage during apprenticeships and a competitive wage upon graduation, JAX will make payments towards college expenses if they meet performance standards, are offered a position, and work at JAX for at least two years upon graduation. The cost remission program benefit is $14,000 each for EMCC apprentices/hires.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in either HVAC or Electrician programs at Eastern Maine Community College.
  • Ability to work part time- minimum one 8 hour shift- during the school year and full time during school breaks.

Pay rate: $20 per hour
