Description
As part of the Hutchins Scholars in Social Justice Summer Research Institute, the Hutchins Institute for Social Justice seeks candidates for the position of Residential Teaching Assistant/Residential Assistant (TA/RA). Serving as a Residential TA/RA for the Hutchins Scholars in Social Justice program provides the opportunity to advance their knowledge and practice of social justice work, gain experience in course development and teaching, and develop important skills in project management and event programming. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Residential TA/RAs are expected to be available for the full duration of the program, Sunday, June 8 - Saturday, June 21, 2025, for instructional and experiential learning activities, including setup and break down. Typically, an instructional day begins at 9am and ends at 4pm, with the possibility of an additional instructional and community evening activity from 7pm to 11pm. Residential TAs/RAs are expected to reside on campus for the full duration of the program, Sunday, June 8 - Saturday, June 21, 2025. In addition, all Residential TA/RA staff are expected to be available for two meetings in the spring term. All Residential TA/RA staff will be responsible for:
Residential TA/RAs are expected to model maturity, responsibility, leadership, and commitment to social justice learning, practice, and ethics. Discretion, organization, punctuality, communication, and follow-through are critical to the success of persons in this role.
