Job Summary: Maintain and repair a wide variety of over the snow equipment including but not limited to snow grooming machines, snowmobiles, lift APU's and generators. Works on advanced level aspects of maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. Oversee operations of the shop, prioritize daily tasks and assist other mechanics. Communicate with shop manager to meet expectation goals and maintain a safe working environment. The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Must have own tools. Effective communication skills, oral & written. Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness. Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards. Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time. Along with a flexible schedule. Work well as team leader. The ability to safely operate all types of equipment. Able to identify and repair all types of mechanical and electrical issues that may occur. Able to always conduct his or herself in a professional manor. Must have very thorough and complete work ethic. Ability to champion, mentor other employees and mechanics. Competencies and Job Requirements: Snowcat/snowmobile maintenance and repair experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. On hill Snowcat, snowmobile recovery and repairs. Knowledge and experience to safely use and operate typical vehicle repair shop hand tools and equipment. Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, Diagnostic and repairs. Welding and fabrication experience. Ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics. Valid driver's license. Snowcat and snowmobile operation. Capable of clearly communicating with other team members. Daily tasks and expectations. Communicate with other departments equipment availability and equipment status Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. 7+ years of the following experience with Pisten Bully units and the following items listed above, with good references. Must be capable of walking or standing 70% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally lifting and pushing or pulling 100 lbs or more, and frequently lifting, pushing or pulling, and carrying up to 40lbs. Must be capable of climbing movements, walking on uneven terrain, walking on snow and ice, and operating snow vehicles. Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, and crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions: Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions. Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate. Hazardous materials include petroleum products, fuel and waste products.
