Our Savannah Operations is a heavy industrial Forging manufacturing plant located in Midway, Georgia, employs approximately 170 people and is poised for growth!

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Production Planner position to work directly with our Operations and Supply Chain Departments and assist with planning and scheduling.

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans and schedules various work centers for production that will require a single piece demand flow as well as batch processing of parts with long process times. Actively partners with various departments within Operations and Supply Chain to meet schedule adherence requirements. The position will also support metric reporting including conference calls, presentations, etc. In addition, this position will require daily interface and communication with shop floor production planning and personnel as well as outside vendors.

Job Responsibilities: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of major duties and responsibilities.



  • Responsible for scheduling the assigned production area as determined by the Master Scheduler.
  • Revise production schedules as needed, due to design changes, staffing and/or material shortages, or other interruptions.
  • Collaborates with internal Operations leaders, engineering, quality and outside vendors to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Review and report out daily production metrics and realign complex work cells to meet or exceed production goals.
  • Incorporates scheduled maintenance of equipment into the production schedule.
  • Communicates across all shifts to relay production schedule and any changes that are made.
  • Follows all company safety rules and requirements and is an example for other team members.
  • Streamline processes and collaborates with other teams to implement changes.
  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Is an example of 5S for other team members.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience or related planning/project management or logistics experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3+ years manufacturing experience or related planning/project management and/or logistics experience
  • Knowledge of forging, machining, outsourced testing or other manufacturing operations
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel to analyze data and create reports
  • Experience leading and influencing others while in positions without direct authority is preferred
