The Library IT department works collaboratively with all Library service areas to provide Web Services, Application Development, and IT infrastructure support. The multi-unit team is responsible for managing the Library's online presence and strategy, creating and managing business applications, providing technology support for Library employees, analyzing and improving IT service delivery and managing IT-specific projects using AGILE methodology. The Systems Support Engineer Sr is responsible for Library IT infrastructure management based on the needs of existing and planned applications in a DevOps team environment. This position provides advanced planning, development, documentation, problem resolution and support in the installation, maintenance, and security of computing systems and applications in a multi-tiered, distributed server environment at the Georgia Tech Library. Job Summary
Responsible for advanced level design, integration, implementation and modification of a wide variety of user information systems usually within a highly complex environment. This includes coordination of the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of those systems. Provide functional and technical expertise in support of user systems operation and maintenance. May include support of labs, training facilities and general IT office software and hardware. Provides technical advice and leadership to lower level technical staff. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: system staff and departmental users including management.
