The opportunity:

The CHB Operations Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing shipments to ensure clients' service levels are met on a daily basis. This role supports a small group of client accounts by expediting their shipments from start to finish; by development of familiarity with their import programs and products; by coordinating file processing with team members and other Company work groups.

Key responsibilities

Own all CHB operations services for the customers assigned to them, including but not limited to:

  • Providing customer service to assigned customers and assisting customers with questions and requests for information.

  • Processing Customs entries and PGA for clearance of goods, ensuring full compliance of all Customs and PGA regulations.

  • Opens entry files, and subsequently processes entries according to outlined KPI

    • Coordinates clearance of shipments with forwarders, Steamship Lines, Airlines, to ensure shipments are released timely.

  • Completes customer billing and/or other required reports.

  • Completes tracking and tracing for inbound shipments.

  • Coordination of delivery for shipments from airline, ocean piers and CFS (container freight station) to customer/consignee destination.

  • Required to ensure that required documentation / entry package is uploaded into operating system

  • Maintain customer SOPs and make updates as needed.

Required experience and skills:

  • Minimum 1 year of CHB and 6 -12 months of experience in the industry.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, or equivalent work experience.

  • Customs House Brokerage License, CCS or CSCP is preferred but not required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently.

  • Works together with others in the business unit to achieve results, fosters teamwork

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Persistently drives issues to closure

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented - especially when working under pressure.

Pay Range: $51,000-$56,000*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
