The University Research Centers (URCs) at Georgia State University conduct a variety of research involving translational research in neuroimaging, behavior neuroscience, diagnostic technology, neuroinflammation and cardiometabolic diseases, and other areas. The Centers involve faculty from a variety of colleges and departments on campus. Their research is funded primarily by federal agencies and not-for-profit organizations and continues to expand each year. The URC researchers brought in over $30million in sponsored funding during Fiscal Year 2024. We strive to create an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence. This position will join the team of research administrators and supervisor supporting the URCs. This position is currently remote; however, must be available to work in the office as needed.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Grants & Contracts Officer III are the following:



  • Research Proposal Collaboration:
    GCO III is responsible for working directly with faculty, researchers and staff on sponsored research proposals including interpreting agency instructions and eligibility, advising, ensuring compliance with federal, state and GSU guidelines, and maintaining accurate and appropriate records. Coordinate submission of proposals through an internal electronic platform system (ie Cayuse) and other sponsor portals. Will route contracts, proposals and other required paperwork. Serve as the point of contact with Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). Liaise with sponsors and other institutions as required.
  • Research Proposal Budget Preparation:
    GCO III prepares proposal budgets and justifications. Ensures compliance with federal, state and GSU policies. This includes calculating salary allocation and appropriate matching funds, if required.
  • Prepare Proposal Documents:
    GCO III will prepare and/or format non-technical proposal documents for faculty. They will also coordinate required documents from subrecipients if needed.
  • Serve as Resource:
    GCO III will serve as a resource to the faculty, researchers and staff within the assigned URC centers.
  • Purchasing Approval:
    GCO III will approve grant purchases in PantherMart based on allowability and allocability within federal, state and university guidelines.
  • All of the job responsibilities require independence, decision-making, and exercising judgment with little assistance from the supervisor. Responsible for resolving both common and unusual problems and issues.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • CRA or CPRA is desirable.
  • Cayuse Proposals experience is desirable.
