Fenway Health is a non-profit healthcare organization with a mission to enhance the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community and other underrepresented populations in underserved neighborhoods through access to quality health care, education, research, and advocacy. Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant II is responsible for the accounting of all accruals, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, and all billing and payroll system integrations. Representative Duties: General Accounting
- Primary areas of responsibility will be accruals, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, and billing and payroll integrations
- Maintains ownership of fixed assets, including tracking, depreciation, disposals, and Ad hoc projects.
- Oversees pharmacy integrations, monthly write-offs and reporting
- Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations
- Performs month-end close tasks and preparing financial statement analysis over areas of responsibility
- Assists in department preparation for the annual audit, tax filings, and other compliance filings
- Drives continuous improvement in department processes
- Perform related duties as required

- Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
- Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested
Performs other related duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum of 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience. Please note that CPA eligibility can replace 1 year of experience.
- Ability to deliver detailed accurate results in a timely manner
- Comfort with managing multiple workflows and successfully coordinating across cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and effectively communicating results to various levels of leadership and operations
- Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with colleagues, patients, clients and vendors across the spectrum of diversity, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, national origin and immigrant status, religious or spiritual identity, disability (physical, mental, emotional and developmental), veteran status, and/or limited English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant or eligible to sit
- General understanding of Oracle Fusion ERP and/or EPM
- Experience with not-for-profits and healthcare
Physical Requirements: Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Sit at a computer station for extended periods of time
- Ability to be on a keyboard for extended periods of time
This is a union position in a Fenway Health bargaining unit represented by 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East.
