Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator is a key member of the Advancement/Foundation team and will support the fundraising activities that generate necessary funds to achieve the overall advancement initiatives of NorthWest Arkansas Community College and NWACC Foundation. The Development Coordinator will support fundraising efforts in areas of annual giving, major gifts, scholarships, alumni relations, corporate relations, planned giving and other areas as assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Make personal solicitation calls on active donors, alumni, corporations, and other potential donors as assigned.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Development, inform potential contributors of the needs of NWACC and encourage gifts to scholarships, endowments, annual fund, and projects. Assure appropriate acknowledgment and stewardship of contributions.
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages event execution for the annual Plant a Seed Soiree and other events and Foundation activities as directed.
  • Assists with the delivery of bi-annual direct mail appeals, employee giving campaign, giving day, and alumni engagement strategy.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with professional colleagues, donors, and community partners (alumni, faculty, staff, community partners and other friends of the College).
  • Assists with appropriate strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, plus appropriate follow-up within the college department, and the Advancement/Foundation Office.
  • Assists in the management and effective use of the donor management system - Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and ensures all donor and prospective donor data is maintained and protected.
  • Act as a key liaison and provide guidance to College departments and student groups seeking to raise funds for projects or programs.
  • Represents NWACC Advancement/Foundation Office at internal and external communities; continually builds and fosters partnerships within the community.
  • Coordinates and disseminates communication materials such as brochures, special event marketing pieces, presentations, and reports in collaboration with design services.
  • Assist in managing NWACC Foundation website, alumni community and social media pages.
  • Perform all functions with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay $46,150 annualized

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs.
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs.
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs.
  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations.
  • Ability to compile information into report form.

The work environment typically consists of a professional office setting with a moderate noise level, including sounds from conversations, office equipment, and occasional movement of staff. Lighting is standard for office spaces, and the temperature is controlled to remain within a comfortable range. Employees may occasionally need to visit other areas, such as storage rooms, conference spaces, or outdoor locations, where environmental conditions may vary. Infrequently, exposure to louder noise levels or physical activities, such as moving lightweight materials, might be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of one to two years in fundraising and/or marketing experience with an understanding of fundraising principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in Blackbaud preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
