We currently are looking to add a full-time CNC Programmer III to our team at our Northeast Philadelphia, PA facility. Job Purpose:

The CNC Programmer III utilizes Mastercam software to maintain and establish programs for CNC milling, turning, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications and established manufacturing plan. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models to determine proper program structure to support required outputs. Works with, Tool Designer, Process Engineers, and CNC machine tool operators on the shop floor to troubleshoot and improve programs. Participates in continuous improvement activities. Work is independent and collaborative in nature. May assume a team lead role for the work group.

As the CNC Programmer III, the team member will:

  • Maintain and establish CNC programs for the manufacturing shop team.
  • Verifies CNC programs are accurate through the use of simulation software.
  • Provide feedback on the manufacturing plan.
  • Work with CNC machine tool operators to correct errors and develop optimum machine performance.
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, design data and processing information of part to determine configuration of cutter paths, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Writes tool sheet instructions containing tool lists, fixturing and setup information.
  • Interacts with DNC Software for file maintenance and storage.
  • Work with fixture design/ Tool Room department for proper fixturing.
  • Establishes best practice for programing methodology, tool sheet format and file storage / control.
  • Advises continuity and update plans on versions of CAM, Simulation, and DNC Software.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Works with outside support as lead to develop/edit programs, tools, and best practices.
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety rules, policies for self and others.

Required Education and Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience (5-7 years) and/or training; 2+ years Master CAM experience required

  • Understanding of blueprint reading

  • Can communicate effectively with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel
  • Awareness of Lean principles preferred

Abilities and Other Skills:

Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of

managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety

of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or

schedule form.

Lifting: This position requires lifting up to 25 pounds under 1/3 of the time, and lifting up to 50 pounds occaisonally.

Vision: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
