Performs technical duties associated with inventory management, including backorder, recall and daily par level monitoring. Completion of daily technical activities, to ensure the safe, accurate handling, storage and dispensing of pharmaceuticals in the hospital. Coordinates pharmaceutical receiving and serves as the liaison for distribution of floor stock requisitions. Ongoing monitoring and quality assurance via cycle count monitoring and tracking inventory trends. Maintains the pharmaceutical storage location and organizes to facilitate ease of removal for pharmacy staff. Timely medications receiving and removal of requisitions to ensure delivery, data entry and accurate assessment of inventory levels. Assist with compliance auditing and process improvement opportunities for all aforementioned responsibilities. Ensures compliance with charge capture, billing, 340B and related supply chain regulations, escalating/recommends solutions for deviations to appropriate members of leadership. Qualifications EDUCATION High school diploma required. Successful completion of academic or military pharmacy technician training course and certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Inventory Management Certification strongly preferred. EXPERIENCE One year experience as a hospital pharmacy technician and inventory management preferred. Experience as a retail pharmacy technician and academic training or experience in other health related fields also considered LICENSURE Current registration/licensure or eligible for registration (obtained prior to start date) as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of employment, as outlined by the respective State regulatory agencies. Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification, or equivalent, is required on, or within 12 months of, date of hire. SPECIAL SKILLS Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Connecticut as outlined by the Dept. of Consumer Protection. Must be able to prioritize competing demands, work independently, show flexibility and teamwork. Demonstrate good communication skills to customers, team members and ability to work with computer equipment including the ability to perform basic troubleshooting functions. Must also be able to lift numerous totes and boxes up to 50 pounds on daily basis.
