Responsibilities

Position Summary:

A high-level leadership role responsible for overseeing a core production process within an organization, including setting strategic production goals, managing production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products while adhering to budget, timelines and very strict quality standards. Lead the implementation of safety and environmental policies in compliance with government regulations and company standards to ensure a safe and productive workplace. Develop and implement strategic plans to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability within the manufacturing division. Coordinate with the team on maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. Often collaborate closely with other departments to achieve overall company objectives.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Manage manufacturing operations duties and activities for one or more Business Units/ Plant.
  • Oversees CAPEX budget for manufacturing area, including financial analysis
  • Seeks to improve the organization's financial performance and competitive positioning through continuous improvement of production related processes.
  • Plan, organize, direct and report on the manufacturing operations in their respective departments. Act as a conduit of information between upper/senior management and front-line supervisors to transform management strategies into tangible objectives for the department.
  • Directly influence the performance of the front-line supervisors and helps coordinate the efficient use of resources to insure that department production objectives are met.
  • Manage the department personnel including (but not limited to) staffing decisions and requirements, scheduling, training/coaching, department meetings, and performance reviews.
  • Serve as a highly visible representative of the Company. Champion the mission, objectives, etc. of the Company and the department while perpetuating a positive work environment.
  • Lead Site Tier 2 process coordinating production activities and resources and continuous improvement projects to deliver site cost savings metrics.
  • Will sometimes, back up for Site VP/GM for Plant Activities, regulatory audits, and corporate initiatives which include capital and lean projects. Also will sometimes back up Dir of Manufacturing where needed.
  • Analyze and investigate production bottlenecks and inefficiencies and audit assembled product quality. Provide viable solutions, process improvement and corrective action when appropriate. Write applicable production and quality procedures and communicate to supervisors/departments.
  • Prepare, analyze, and provide reports and data as required on various department and production data (may include efficiency reports scrap reports, budget/operating expenditure reports)

  • Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
  • Represents the organization as a prime contact on projects and departmental operations. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on issues often requiring coordination across organizational lines.

Target Based Range

$119,160 - $148,950

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Valid driver's license and passport, Secrecy and invention agreement and non-compete agreement, Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
