SUMMARY:

Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment and facilities. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyor systems, production machines, etc.

**Swing shift - 1:30pm - 12:00am

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.



  1. Responsible for the ongoing maintains all equipment within the plant by maintaining refrigeration and hydraulic systems; plumbing, steam and pneumatic systems.
  2. Takes initiative to identify and solve problems, work in a team approach with maintenance, production and other groups.
  3. Maintains power transmission equipment, seals, bearings, gears and shafts.
  4. Determines cause of problems and decides on corrective action, both temporary and long term fixes.
  5. Interprets a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  6. Maintains area of responsibility to meet GMP standards.
  7. Responsible for cleanup of equipment and shop area; proper storage of tools and materials.
  8. Lubricates and cleans parts.
  9. Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  10. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  11. Follow Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Three years related mechanic, millwright or maintenance experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Current driver's license and a DMV report that meets the requirements of our insurance agency.

Completion of a forklift safety training course.

TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to use computers.

PERFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

Welding/fabrication skills.

Food production experience.

  • Talk or hear.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly works in proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
  • The employee occasionally works in outside extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, etc.)
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
