Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate or undergraduate student majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields preferred.
  • A portfolio of two or more projects related to data science and visualization as part of a course project or independent study is also required.
  • Knowledge of data science basics and programming in Python.
  • A solid grasp of statistics and statistical techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization and graphing techniques.
  • Knowledge of AI and ML toolsets from Azure, AWS or Google.
  • Meticulous attention to details.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey research findings.
  • Ability and willingness to learn tools and techniques to assist in evaluating new technologies.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

Summary

The Engineering Intern will support engineers in evaluating innovative technology solutions in AI and machine learning model creation, refinement and validation for various domains. They should understand various qualitative and quantitative research methods and be adept at tracking experiments and capturing results. Candidates will be working with vendor supplied platforms, collecting and labeling data and analyzing and visualizing the data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists BI Labs members on projects and be a contributing member of the process.
  • Develops test plans.
  • Collects, labels and methodically manages datasets.
  • Prepares and analyzes the data using a variety of ML model building tools.
  • Collaborates on analysis and creation of interim and final reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
