Position Description:

In the role of a Financial Assistant II you will be working in the Cancer Center.


Purpose

Provide reliable support to Finance team to monitor and reconcile various accounts, support day-to-day transactions, data entry, and assist in the organization and preparation of financial statements.

Primary Functions (Assist in the following processes):

  • Support the purchasing and payable efforts, preparing purchase orders for entry.
  • Support billing and collection operations.
  • Perform a variety of routine accounting tasks.
  • Preparing semi-monthly financial statements.
  • Prepares, records, and verifies information.
  • Prepare invoices and processes related to study administration and personnel requirements.
  • Support data collection of monthly labor reports using multiple software applications.
  • Track the statuses of project extensions.
  • Sort various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Knowledge of computers, basic excel functions, electronic file management, clerical procedures, customer service standards, collaboration, and information management.
  • Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, writing, active listening, active learning skills and problem-solving skills.
  • General office, data and file management.
  • Adobe, Excel, Outlook (pdf files, basic excel functions, scheduling)
  • Exporting data; formatting data; summarizing information.
  • Verbal, written communication skills
  • Managing inbox for billing (sorting, categorizing)

  • Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma
  • Minimum Required Experience: 2 years
    • Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
