Overview

SRI is looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician in the Microcircuit Emulation Center (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) to install, and maintain semiconductor equipment. This role supports the manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits) on-site in Princeton, NJ during the second shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm). Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) and Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) programs, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. SRI's Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry.



Responsibilities

    Assist in the installation, manufacturing support, and regular preventative and/or corrective maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment including electrical, mechanical or software installation, comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, and repairs to non-functioning equipment.
  • Electrical, mechanical and software troubleshooting to determine problems with and subsequently repair tools due to unscheduled downtime.
  • Interacting with departments within SRI (i.e., Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving, Model Shop, Facilities) to ensure timely acquisition of necessary equipment and services to keep the equipment and related facilities of the Wafer Fab running.
  • Performing minor repairs on facility related equipment/systems in the Wafer Fab (may include plumbing, electrical, and carpentry/painting work).
  • Working with senior scientists and engineers in Microcircuit Emulation Center to identify opportunities and implement solutions for process and procedural improvements.
  • Work to understand the semiconductor industry and obtain working knowledge of the machines used in production.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma, trade school and related experience as follows: Level 2 at least 3+ years' and for level 3, at least 6+ years'.
  • Working knowledge in areas including electronic troubleshooting, electrical line voltage, mechanics, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Must be comfortable with the use of basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, power drills, etc.)
  • Basic and detailed understanding of blueprints and schematics as per level hired.
  • Able to work as a team and interact effectively with others.
  • Willing to learn new skills and be trained. Initial training would be first shift.
  • Must follow safety protocols and be comfortable wearing and working in the required PPE.
  • Must be detail orientated with a strong work ethic.

The salary range is: Level 2 $25.72-$34.10; Level 3 $29.10-$39.00. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
