Summary:


An excellent career opportunity exists with Venture Aerobearings LLC, a joint venture established by SKF Group and GE Aviation to manufacture aeroengine bearings for GE jet engines in Ladson, SC. Venture Aerobearings LLC brings together the latest technology from both GE and SKF and using a self-directed/high performance team concept. State of the art equipment is being combined with innovative manufacturing and inspection processes in a paperless environment. This is an exciting opportunity with tremendous growth potential in the aerospace industry.

The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance repairs for assigned equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead and perform monthly preventative maintenance to ensure facility equipment is operating optimally, with a strong focus on electrical and mechanical systems.


  • Execute advanced electrical and mechanical repairs on equipment, including complex troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.


  • Inspect and identify equipment in need of electrical and mechanical repair, prioritizing critical systems.


  • Maintain and manage inventory of electrical and mechanical maintenance supplies.


  • Provide expert consultation to the facility maintenance leader on items requiring specialized electrical or mechanical repairs.


  • Collaborate with machinists and inspectors to follow up on maintenance requests, particularly those involving electrical and mechanical systems.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.





Required Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical repair tasks on machinery, equipment, and building facilities.


  • Ability to follow instructions


  • Capable of using API for scheduling and signing off maintenance tasks


  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as volt-ohm meters and other diagnostic tools.


  • Ability to read/write/speak English


  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools


  • Excellent time management skills





Special Requirements:



  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Hazardous Materials Certification





Education and Experience Requirements:



  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED


  • 1-2 years maintenance experience preferred





Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to move/lift 50lbs throughout the day.


  • Must be able to operate forklift/lift carts.


  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and walking


  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.





Working Conditions:



  • Works in a controlled climate.


  • Occasional outdoor work required.


  • Small amounts of machine noise.


  • Works around hazardous chemicals.


  • PPE required and provided by company.
