Position Description: |
The overall goal of the Dermatology research program at The University of Iowa is to describe and define mechanisms of cutaneous disease, identify potential therapeutic targets, construct or discover new treatments, and assess the efficacy of novel therapeutic agents. Research is or has been supported in the department by the National Institutes of Health, Veterans Administration, Dermatology Foundation, industry sponsors, and private endowments. Postdoctoral Research Scholars will work with a primary mentor to determine the goals and duties of the position. These will likely include working with site principal investigators on investigator-initiated or pharma-sponsored clinical trials, enrollment in patient registries, the development of case reports and case series, and/or basic science support. The position can be tailored to candidate interests and departmental research needs. This is a one-year program available in "Basic and Translational Cutaneous Biology." Extension up to three years is available. |
Education Requirement: |
The program is open to MD, DO or MD/PhD degree holders that have completed a transitional year residency. Preference will be given to those eligible for medical licensure. |
