These invasive pests can wreak havoc on our trees, plants, and crops, leading to losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars each year. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your primary responsibility involves evaluating sites for pest treatment and using pesticides to control spotted lanternfly and its hosts. You will communicate with property owners to explain survey programs and inspect trees or set traps on private property before starting activities. You will visually inspect host plants for signs of target organisms and follow data entry protocols provided by headquarters staff. Other responsibilities include conducting pest surveys, site assessments, and maintaining a weekly survey log.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Limited term full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is home headquartered if candidate lives within Mercer County. If candidate does not live within Mercer County, the reporting address is 500 Rugh Street, Suite 100, Greensburg PA 15601.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An associate's degree in forest technology; or
  • Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Condition of Employment:
  • This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
