Continuous Improvement Technicians will be responsible for completing CI activities and monitoring sustainment activities that immediately follow CI projects revolving around Shop Floor, Design, and Business Processes (Value Chain Focus). In addition, this position will be responsible for barrier removal and root-cause problem-solving. Position requirements:
- Implement CI changes on the shop floor to support the CI Projects and/or small improvement ideas. This may include, but is not limited to, parts presentation, material flow, inventory methods (such as Kanban), and workstation design.
- Assist Process Owners, Sponsors, and team members in meeting project event goals related to reducing product lead times, cycle times and WIP inventory, increasing productivity, and eliminating waste. Create standard work, time studies, and other shop floor methods for production support.
- Follow up with Event Sponsors, Process Owners, and project team members. Document and track results of activities.
- Identify and solve root cause problems.
- Oversee sustainment activities to ensure identified improvements are fully implemented and all items on the project list are completed on time.
- Coordinate Kaizen event scheduling and logistics, which includes scheduling the training, arranging hospitality, scheduling training rooms, making AV arrangements, assisting with assembling training materials, taking digital photos, and updating of Kaizen communication center and website.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience is required.
- Familiarity with the manufacturing industry and related business processes is required.
