Job Summary:

The Manager is focused on the Healthcare industry verticals and responsible for project execution and project management, leading, managing, and directing staff in performing analysis, examination, review, assessment, and testing in a wide variety of healthcare related client engagements. In this role, the Manager applies technical competency in healthcare related fraud, disputes, compliance, and healthcare operational consulting. This position serves as the Project Manager on select health care related assignments and participates as a core project team member on others. The Manager is required to document engagement findings including authoring written reports requiring good written and verbal communication skills. This role authors thought leadership and begins developing a personal and collaborative go to market strategy.

Job Duties:



  • Project manages and participates in complex healthcare related fraud investigations, disputes, compliance matters, and operational consulting engagements. Clients may include hospitals, health systems, medical practices, skilled nursing facilities, physician practices, healthcare enterprises and payers
  • Develops project workplans and supervises staff; executes the more complex part of workplans including books and record analyses, data analytics, conducting interviews, market research and liaising with BDO Forensic Technology and Corporate intelligence representatives
  • Communicates with clients in an organized, and knowledgeable manner, delivering clear, concise, and accurate documents and requests
  • Analyzes the current business environment, understands client needs, assesses risks, and identifies recommendations/areas of improvement
  • Collaborates with a Managing Director/Principal in the development of proposals
  • Develops industry specific thought leadership articles and communications
  • Aides in the development of targeted and industry specific marketing materials
  • Monitors and implements industry trends and best practices; creates a positive, team-focused environment
  • Other duties as required


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Supervises staff on projects, including parallel multiple projects in healthcare fraud related engagements, disputes, compliance and operational consulting
  • Acts as Career Advisor to Senior Associates and Associates
  • Evaluates the performance of Senior Associates and Associates and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education



  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • MBA, JD, or MD, preferred


Experience



  • Five (5) or more years of experience in performing healthcare forensics including investigations, disputes and compliance as well as conducting operational reviews and other related healthcare engagements, required
  • Experience with medical billing practices, government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, HIPAA, regulatory compliance, clinical coding & medical billing review, CID, False Claims/Qui tam, preferred
  • Experience leveraging data analytic tools to analyze patient trends, demographics, and fraudulent transactions, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $90,000 - $150,000
Maryland Range: $90,000 - $150,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $90,000 - $150,000
